5 Happiness Hacks: Sanity, Coffee, and Chaos In Quirky Style

Daily writing prompt
What are 5 everyday things that bring you happiness?

5 Everyday Things That Bring Me Happiness (and Keep Me from Becoming a Supervillain)

Look, I’m not asking for a mansion in Goa or a private jet named Inner Peace.
I’m just asking for the bare minimum—a few tiny things that stop me from launching into a full-blown existential crisis at 3 PM.

Here are my 5 happiness hacks that keep me (somewhat) functional and (almost) sane:

A no-brainer.
Literally. Because you don’t need brains to drink coffee.
(Yes, that was a PJ. No, I will not apologize.)

While the rest of India worships masala chai like it’s their emotional support liquid, I rise with the holy grail of caffeine.

It’s peaceful.
It’s aromatic.
It whispers, “You still have time to fix your life. Maybe.”

McDonald’s said it best: I’m lovin’ it.

✍️ 2. Writing – My Daily Dose of Free Therapy

No matter how busy I am pretending to be productive, I write.
It’s my oxygen. My journal. My weapon. My BFF. My unpaid side hustle.

These days, writing gives me three things:

  1. Satisfaction
  2. A weird sense of purpose
  3. Absolutely no money

But I’m hopeful.
Somewhere out there, someone is getting paid millions to write fanfiction about potatoes.
Until then… hello, Google Docs.

💤 3. Sleeping – The Real Rich People Experience

Forget yachts and Rolexes.
Getting 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep is peak luxury.

You know that moment when your head hits the pillow and you pass out in under 60 seconds?
That’s not sleep. That’s teleportation.
One minute you’re overthinking why your boss liked someone else’s LinkedIn post,
Next minute—boom, it’s morning.

Sweet dreams? I don’t remember any.
But waking up with drool and mild regret? Priceless.

🚶 4. Walking – My Personal TED Talk Hour

They say walking isn’t an exercise.
I say, “Bro, I burn more calories avoiding people on footpaths than you do at the gym.”

Walking is where I:

  • Plan my entire future
  • Rewrite arguments from 3 years ago
  • Pretend I’m on a podcast nobody asked for

And yes, I wrote a post titled “Walking is an Exercise” —because facts need defending, and I’m out here fighting the cardio war with my sneakers.

If you haven’t read it, go do that.
And like, share, subscribe—because YouTube isn’t the only place where nonsense goes viral.

📚 5. Reading – Where It All Began

They say, “Good readers make good writers.”
I say, “Good readers make great introverts with unrealistic romantic expectations and a deep connection with fictional characters.”

Reading taught me plot, pacing, sarcasm, and how to mentally correct other people’s grammar while smiling like a saint.

My love for writing didn’t start on some stage or in some webinar.
It started curled up in a corner, lost in books while the world played cricket outside.
And honestly? No regrets. Books don’t bowl bouncers.

“My Favourite Happiness Hacks”

(A Rhyming Ode to Sanity, Coffee & Chaos)

Every morning I rise with no grand plans,
Just coffee and socks with holes in both vans.
I sip my brew, dodge panic attacks,
And start the day with happiness hacks.
Yes, plain and simple happiness hacks.

While others chase goals with fitness apps,
I prefer books and post-lunch naps.
No spreadsheets, no pressure, no corporate claps—
Just me, my thoughts, and happiness hacks,
Escaping the grind with happiness hacks.

Writing at dawn when the world’s asleep,
Pouring out thoughts I can’t dare to keep.
Words don’t pay rent, but hey, they’ve got backs—
Shouldering dreams with happiness hacks,
Stacking my soul with happiness hacks.

Walking alone is my undercover bliss,
Where silence and steps exchange a kiss.
I dodge small talk and energy-sucking packs,
Wrapped in the warmth of happiness hacks,
Looping my thoughts through happiness hacks.

Reading old books with dog-eared spines,
While chaos outside still whines and whines.
Fictional friends give fewer flaks,
They live with me through happiness hacks,
Plot twist survival = happiness hacks.

Sleep is my luxury, deep and sound,
No alarms, just dreams where I’m not drowned.
Bunked real life? Maybe, but who tracks—
I recharge best with happiness hacks,
Nap like royalty through happiness hacks.

Music on loop, the same old beat,
Dancing alone with two left feet.
No judgment, no critics, just mirror cracks,
Where I rehearse my happiness hacks,
Groove like no one audits happiness hacks.

Laughing at memes at 3 AM,
While life feels like a spicy exam.
Some call it waste, but I’ve got stacks—
Of dopamine doses and happiness hacks,
Scroll therapy = modern happiness hacks.

Saying “no” without guilt or fear,
Protecting peace when chaos is near.
Boundaries are better than panic attacks,
Self-love fueled by happiness hacks,
Sanity fenced in with happiness hacks.

So here I stand, still broke but bold,
Not chasing gold, just stories told.
Through highs and lows and timeline cracks,
I stitched my life with happiness hacks,
And stayed half-sane with happiness hacks.

🎯 Final Thoughts?

So yeah—these 5 things bring me happiness.
Not Ferraris. Not fame.
Just a cup of coffee, a few thousand words, a walk, a nap, and a book.

Call it boring. I call it therapy.

“Happiness hacks aren’t about grand goals or Pinterest-perfect mornings. They’re about the tiny, everyday things that keep your sanity stitched together—like a hot cup of coffee, a long walk with zero destination, or writing your heart out without checking the likes.”

Because in a world that wants you to chase milestones, sometimes the real win is just surviving the day with your humor intact, your bed calling your name, and your piggy bank forgiving you one more time.”
