Rediscovering Playtime
As the year comes to an end, I find myself reflecting on the little joys that make life not just livable but worth living. One such joy is playtime.
Do I Play?
Playtime isn’t just about sports or games; it’s about those moments when life feels lighter, free, and unfiltered. For me, “playtime” sneaks into the cracks of my daily grind:
- When I pick up my guitar and attempt Hotel California (again).
- When I go for my long walks, dodging potholes like a real-life Mario game.
- When I indulge in watching Tom & Jerry reruns because laughter never gets old.
Playtime is in the little joys—sipping coffee while losing myself in a book, brainstorming quirky blog posts, or just letting my mind wander without direction.
Why Playtime Matters
Playtime isn’t just for kids or weekends; it’s a lifeline. It’s that one moment when the burdens of life take a backseat, and you rediscover what it means to truly be.
- It reminds me to stay curious, like a child discovering the world during playtime.
- It gives me the courage to laugh at my own mistakes (like when I miss a chord while strumming).
- And most importantly, it teaches me that life, at its best, is a game to be played—not a burden to be carried.
New Year, New Plays
As we step into another year, let’s remember to make more time for playtime. Let’s find joy in the small things, laugh harder, love deeper, and, of course, dodge those potholes like pros.
Thank You
To my wonderful readers, thank you for being a part of this journey. Your support, comments, and laughter have been my playtime this year. I hope my words have brought a little joy to your days, just as your presence has to mine.
Here’s wishing you all a Happy New Year, filled with laughter, creativity, and a whole lot of playtime. Let’s make 2025 the year of living fully.
Yours in chai, guitars, and quirky musings,
Lucifer Morningstar
