The first day—the landmine of awkward silences, questionable confidence, and blunders
Whether it’s school or taking on the beast of Mumbai’s Western Railway local train, the “first day” is where legends are either made or where legends get pushed out at Dadar Station.
In true Quick Gun Murugun style, let’s relive those mind-blasting firsts
1. First Day at School — “Mummy, Mujhe Chhod Ke Kyun Gayi?”
Scene: Tiny you, oversized bag, water bottle hanging like a Gun across your chest.
- Teacher: “Say ABCD!”
- You: Silent Mode Activated. Wondering while wandering, who is ABCD?
- Other Kids: Already running like in a park or playground.
The moment your mom disappeared around the corner, you cried louder than a Bollywood hero’s dramatic entry:
“Mummyyy, mummyyyyyy, mummyyyyyyyyyyyyyy……..!”
But by day’s end, you were bossing the playground and snatching crayons like a pro. Hero entry complete.
2. First Day at Mumbai Local Train—“Survival of the Quickest!”
Scene: Western Railway. Churchgate to Virar. First day. Peak hours. A rookie mistake—thinking you’ll just “find a seat.”
- Hero Entry: You step onto the platform, unaware that you’ve entered the Thanos snap of public transport—survive or vanish.
- Boarding the Train: The train pulls in. You see the crowd. The crowd sees you. Dhishoom Dhishoom! You jump in, get sandwiched, and hold on to your dear life, hanging by the door like a Bollywood villain.
Me (internally): “Yeh kya ho raha bhai? Is this public transport or WrestleMania?”
At Dadar, the universe unleashes its full fury:
- People pour in and out simultaneously.
- Your bag gets yanked.
- A hand slaps you “accidentally.”
- And someone casually says: “Andar chalo bhai, aage jagah hai!”
“Jagah? Kahan, rascala? On your lap??”
Achievements Unlocked on Day 1:
- Mastered Body Balance: Standing with one foot on the floor and one on air—without falling.
- Learned the Art of “Adjust Karna”: “Bhai thoda adjust karo,” said 5 people while fitting into 1 square foot of space.
- Understood the Golden Rule: You don’t find a seat. The seat finds you (eventually, after years of struggle).
The Hero Moment: As the train finally pulls into your station, you leap off like a warrior escaping battle. Sweating, smiling, and proudly muttering to yourself:
“Western Railway conquered, Mind it!”
Your Turn, Rascala! Mind It!

Yours in wit and first-day bruises,
